People often say something is “funny” meaning it’s “peculiar,” but when something is very peculiar they don’t say it’s “hysterical;” for something only a bit peculiar, they don’t say it’s “amusing.”
“Funny” adjectives don’t vary with the amount of peculiarity, which is...ya know...peculiar.

Scott-Language is funny...but your words really touched me today. I saw the comment you left on another blog which I am not going to list here just in case someone on your site wants to be nosey. Anyhow, I know what you mean...I do. I am a mom and even though I love my son with all my heart my dogs are my babies too. I am not sure if you read post secrets, but I post them on my blog a lot. I think I am going to repost the dog one just for you this week. I heard a quote awhile ago something about someday being the wonderful person that my dog thinks I am.
ReplyDeleteScott-I did not stay in their either. I think that your mom staying in there was enough. Dogs love us so unconditionally and the pain does heal. My husband and I opened up a pet store a couple years back we only did adoption and rescue and it was so rewarding---until the economy closed us down. Regardles, I am very glad that I found your blog
